Небо над Отавом је због пожара било наранџасто, а грађани се позивају на опрез због загађења ваздуха. Због дима који долази из Канаде и Њујорк се нашао у врху листе најзагађенијих градова на свијету. Пожара има и у Онтарију и Алберти, чему су допринијеле високе температуре и суви временски услови.
